BARI Woodwind
Bari Woodwinds, Inc. is an American manufacturer of high-quality woodwind mouthpieces and synthetic reeds for saxophones and clarinets.Founded in 1952 by professional big-band musician Wolfe Taninbaum (who played under the stage name Wolfe Tayne), the company pioneered the synthetic reed industry. Taninbaum, frustrated by the lack of playing consistency in traditional cane reeds while touring with legendary orchestras like Benny Goodman and Les Brown, designed one of the first commercially successful synthetic alternatives. Today, the company operates out of a specialized manufacturing facility in Palmetto, Florida, under the leadership of longtime owners Ron Van Ostenbridge and Gary Spears.
