Biography
Pablo Martínez (Bullas [Murcia, Spain] 1989) studied at the Conservatory of Murcia (Spain) and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (The Netherlands), obtaining a Bachelor degree in classical trombone, Master degree in jazz trombone and a Master degree in jazz bass trombone. He has won several awards in both classical and jazz competitions and has participated in the recording of over thirty albums with artists such as the Metropole Orchestra, Alain Clarke, Di-Rect, Santiago Auserón, Rolf Sánchez, Jorge Pardo, Ben van Dijk, Gerardo Rosales among many others.
Currently he is living in Amsterdam, where he leads his own project "Pablo Martinez Flamenco-Jazz Band" receiving the second prize in the semifinal of the Keep an Eye Jazz Award 2013 and performing in some of the best venues in Europe such as the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, the Jamboree in Barcelona and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam among festivals throughout the Dutch geography. He released his first album “De madrugada” in 2016, featuring Jorge Pardo. Pablo also works as a freelance musician, performing regularly with bands such as The Power Horns, CaboCubaJazz, Daahoud Salim Quintet, New Cool Collective Big Band, Odelion Orchestra, Peter Beets & The Henk Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Metropole Orchestra. He has as well shared the stage with the likes of Michel Camilo, Roy Hargrove, Gregory Porter, Four Tops & The Temptations and the Frankfurt Radio Big Band.
