The Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro is an all-in-one HDMI live production switcher built for people who stream and record real shows without a full broadcast rack. It takes four HDMI cameras or computers, switches them live with broadcast-quality transitions and effects, and streams straight to the internet on its own. For churches, classrooms, podcasters, gamers and small studios, it turns a pile of separate gear into a single box you can run by hand.
Overview
What sets the ATEM Mini Pro apart from the basic ATEM Mini is that it does not need a computer to go live. A hardware streaming engine sends your program directly to YouTube Live, Facebook, Twitch and other RTMP services over Ethernet, and it records the same program to a USB-C disk in H.264 at the same time. If you would rather use streaming software, the USB connection presents the switched program to your computer as a plain webcam, so Zoom, Teams, OBS and the rest see it instantly with no capture card.
All four HDMI inputs are standards converted, which means you can plug in cameras and computers running different resolutions and frame rates and the switcher matches them automatically. Inside you get a Fairlight audio mixer with EQ and dynamics on every input, a 2D DVE for picture-in-picture, a green screen chroma keyer, a media pool with 20 stills for titles and graphics, and a full set of cut, dissolve and DVE transitions. A multiview output puts all four cameras, preview, program, audio levels and status on one monitor so you always see the whole show.
The HDMI program output feeds a monitor, projector or external recorder, and the Ethernet port lets you control the switcher remotely, so the unit can sit near the cameras while you run it from a quieter control position. You can also control Blackmagic cameras over HDMI, adjusting iris, focus, zoom and color from the switcher.
