The Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme is the big-format member of the ATEM Mini family, built for shows that have outgrown four inputs. It switches eight HDMI cameras and computers live, streams on its own and records to USB, and adds the extra keyers, outputs and effects that more ambitious productions need, all in a single box you run by hand.
Overview
The Extreme doubles the input count to eight standards-converted HDMI connections, so you can run a full multi-camera shoot plus computers for slides or playback without an external router. As with the Pro, a built-in streaming engine sends your program straight to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and other RTMP services over Ethernet, recording to a USB-C disk in H.264 at the same time, and the USB connection presents the switched program to your computer as a webcam for Zoom, Teams and OBS.
Where the Extreme pulls ahead is production firepower. It has more upstream keyers and DVE channels than the Mini Pro for layered graphics and picture-in-picture, a large multiview to watch every input at once, two HDMI outputs for program and an auxiliary feed, and a headphone output plus microphone inputs for hands-on audio. The Fairlight mixer gives you EQ and dynamics across the board, and the media pool holds stills for titles and lower thirds.
It is still a combined switcher and control surface, so everything is at your fingertips on the front panel, while Ethernet lets you place the unit near the cameras and control it remotely from a quieter room.

Who it is for
