IK Multimedia iRig USB is a compact USB-C guitar and bass audio interface with a 1/4 in. instrument input, a 1/8 in. headphone output and a dedicated 1/4 in. amp output. The instrument input responds from 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.5 dB with 90 dB dynamic range, the amp output reaches 97 dB and the headphone output 94 dB. It measures 99 x 42 x 25 mm, weighs 54 g and is powered by the connected device.

iRig USB is the digital version of the iRig 2 concept: get a guitar into a phone, tablet or computer cleanly, with no batteries and no fuss. USB-C connects to iPad, Mac, PC and iPhone with a USB-C port, and the enclosure is small enough to leave permanently in a gig bag.
A large gain control with a clipping LED sets the level, and there is an FX bypass switch on the body. The headphone output covers silent practice, and the mono amp output feeds a real amplifier or a pedalboard so the tones on your device can be used on stage rather than only in headphones.
TONEX and AmpliTube apps are included for Mac, PC and iOS, so it arrives with amp and effects modeling rather than needing a separate purchase. It also works with practice and learning apps, since it presents as a standard audio input.

Which Devices Does iRig USB Work With?
iPad and iPhone with a USB-C connector, macOS 10.6 or later, Windows 10 or later, and Android 5 or later with USB digital audio support. Lightning devices need Apple's Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter and a USB-C to USB-A cable, both sold separately. On Windows, install IK's iRig ASIO driver for low latency.
Who Is iRig USB For?
Guitar and bass players practicing, learning and recording ideas from a phone, tablet or laptop. The amp output also makes it useful at rehearsal, since your device tones can drive a real amp or powered monitor without any other gear.
Is iRig USB Good for Travel?
Yes. At 54 g with no batteries and no power supply, it is a USB-C cable and a small box. Plug it into a laptop, tablet or phone and it works. Nothing to charge.

Can I use it with bass?
Yes. The instrument input has the frequency response and dynamic range for active or passive bass as well as guitar.
What is the FX bypass switch for?
It bypasses processing so you can hear the dry instrument signal, which is useful for checking your level and for tracking a clean DI alongside a processed part.
