Apollo X Gen 2 Rackmount Promo
Get a free UA Sphere LX modeling microphone with the Apollo x16 Gen 2 with UAD Analog Classics
A 999 dollar value, included with this model through December 31, 2026 or while supplies last. Call 844-687-4208 with any questions about the offer.
Universal Audio Apollo x16 Gen 2 is a 18-in / 20-out rackmount Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with no Unison preamps, line level throughout and HEXA Core DSP for Realtime UAD processing. It ships with the UAD Analog Classics plug-in bundle and the LUNA Recording System, and runs UAD plug-ins in VST, Audio Units and AAX in any major DAW.
Sixteen channels of UA conversion for an existing outboard rack.
Apollo x16 is the line level member of the Apollo family. It has no mic preamps, so there is no Unison stage on this model. It is built to sit behind outboard preamps, a console or a summing rack and give them sixteen channels of UA conversion in and out over DB25.
Realtime UAD Processing runs on the onboard HEXA Core DSP. It runs UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency regardless of the DAW buffer size, so a vocalist monitors through an LA-2A and a Pultec while tracking, and the DSP load sits on the interface rather than the computer. The same plug-ins run in VST, Audio Units and AAX in any major DAW at mix time.
LUNA is included free. It is UA's own recording system, and it adds tape, console and summing emulations that run as extensions rather than as inserts, which is a different workflow from treating them as plug-ins on a channel.

How Much I/O Does Apollo x16 Have?
18-in / 20-out rackmount thunderbolt 3 interface. Line inputs: 16, DB25; Line outputs: 16, DB25; Monitor outputs: 1 stereo pair; Digital: AES/EBU with sample rate conversion; Computer: Thunderbolt 3.
Who Is Apollo x16 For?
Studios that already own outboard mic preamps, a console or a summing rack and need sixteen channels of UA conversion with Realtime UAD processing on the interface rather than the computer. Call 844-687-4208 if you are choosing between models in the range and want the I/O compared against what you already own.
Does Apollo x16 Have Unison Preamps?
No. Unison works at the mic preamp stage, and the x16 has no mic preamps. Every input is line level on DB25. Realtime UAD Processing still runs on the HEXA Core DSP, so UAD plug-ins can be used on any input at near-zero latency while tracking.
What Plug-Ins Come With the UAD Analog Classics Version?
Analog Classics is the bundle every Apollo ships with. It covers 6 channel strips and preamps including the Century Tube Channel Strip, CS-1, LA-6176 Signature Channel Strip, Precision Channel Strip and UA 610-A, 3 mastering processors in the Precision Limiter, Maximizer and Multiband, 5 guitar and bass plug-ins including Bermuda Triangle and Raw Distortion, and the Topline Vocal Suite and Key Finder for vocals and pitch correction.

Why Universal Audio?
Universal Audio was founded in 1958 by M.T. "Bill" Putnam, the engineer who built the first recording console with integrated equalization and effects sends, and who designed the 1176 and the 610. The company was revived in 1999 by his sons and now does two things: it still hand-builds analog hardware in California, and it licenses and models the classics from Neve, API, Manley, SSL, Lexicon, Studer, Ampex and others rather than emulating them without authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a genuine Universal Audio product?
Yes. Victory is a veteran owned dealer in Miami and units ship new in original packaging with full manufacturer support, including software registration rights.
Is this covered by warranty?
Yes. This unit carries the full Universal Audio manufacturer warranty, registered to you as the original purchaser. Call 844-687-4208 for the current term.
Does it work on Mac and Windows?
Yes. Universal Audio supports both. Check UA's current system requirements for the connection type and operating system version before ordering, and call 844-687-4208 if you want that confirmed against your machine.
Can I track through UAD plug-ins with no latency?
Effectively yes. Realtime UAD Processing runs the plug-ins on the interface's own DSP at near-zero latency regardless of the DAW buffer size, so a singer can monitor through a compressor and reverb while recording.
Is a cable included?
Universal Audio sells the Thunderbolt cable separately on most Apollo models. Call 844-687-4208 and we will confirm what ships in the box for this configuration.
