The Applause AB24-5S is a roundback acoustic-electric guitar with a mid-depth Lyrachord bowl, a cutaway and a center soundhole, in black satin. It has a spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, a nato neck, ovangkol fingerboard and bridge, a 643 mm scale, 42.8 mm nut, and an Applause preamp with 3-band EQ and built-in tuner.
The classic Ovation-style roundback, ready for the stage.
The roundback is the design Ovation is known for: a one-piece Lyrachord composite bowl in place of flat wooden back and sides. The bowl resists humidity and temperature changes far better than wood, holds up to the road, and projects sound forward, which also helps control feedback on stage.
The AB24 is the traditional Applause Balladeer layout: a mid-depth bowl for a full acoustic sound, a single center soundhole, and a cutaway for the upper frets. The preamp with 3-band EQ and tuner lets you shape the tone at the guitar and tune between songs without a pedal.
A black satin finish, ivory binding with multi-ply purfling and diecast chrome tuners finish it off.

Who Is the AB24-5S For?
Gigging players, worship guitarists and anyone who needs a plug-in acoustic that stays in tune and holds up to travel, heat and humidity.
Why a Roundback?
The Lyrachord bowl is stable in changing weather, durable on the road, and projects sound forward, which makes it easier to control feedback through a PA.
