Twelve Strings on a Composite Bowl
Twelve-string guitars punish wooden construction: nearly double the string tension works on every seam and brace for the life of the instrument. The AB2412's mid-depth Lyrachord bowl is a one-piece molded shell with no seams to creep and no back to bow, which is exactly the structure you want holding that tension for decades. The selected spruce top with scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing carries the shimmer, and the cutaway keeps the upper frets reachable.
Sound and Electronics
The double courses deliver that wide, chiming twelve-string bed, and the bowl keeps it focused instead of washy. The CE304T preamp with three-band EQ matters even more here than on a six-string: pull a little low end out and a twelve-string sits beautifully in a mix that would swallow it acoustically. The onboard tuner earns its place twice over on an instrument with twelve strings to keep honest.
Playability
The 47.6mm nut gives the doubled courses room without stretching into baritone territory, on the same 642mm scale as the six-string AB24. Twelve-strings have a reputation for fighting the player; this one was configured not to.
