The Applause Wood Classics AAS96-1 is a slope shoulder dreadnought acoustic guitar with a solid European spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a 12th-fret neck joint on a 630 mm scale. It has a 45 mm nut, bone nut and saddle, tulip-button tuners and a high-gloss sunburst top.
Vintage slope shoulder style with a 12-fret neck joint.
The slope shoulder dreadnought shape rounds off the boom of a square-shoulder dread into a warmer, more balanced sound, a favorite of fingerstyle and Americana players. The AAS96-1 is the only Wood Classic that joins the neck at the 12th fret, which moves the bridge toward the center of the top, on a shorter 630 mm scale with a wider 45 mm nut.
It is part of the Applause Wood Classics series, traditional steel-string body shapes in all-wood construction with a dovetail neck joint, bone nut and compensated bone saddle, and a pinless bridge that makes string changes quick.
Chrome tuners with tulip buttons and cream binding finish the vintage look. It comes strung with Adamas 1818NU, .012 to .053.

Who Is the AAS96-1 For?
Fingerstyle, folk and Americana players who want a vintage-style slope shoulder with a wider nut and a slightly slinkier feel from the shorter scale.
What Does the 12-Fret Neck Joint Change?
It places the bridge closer to the center of the top, which many players hear as a warmer, fuller response. The shorter 630 mm scale also makes string tension feel lighter.
