ART P16 is a 16-channel balanced XLR patch bay in a 1U rack space. It has 16 female XLR jacks on the front and 16 male XLR jacks on the rear, wired pin for pin with no electronics in the path, so it needs no power and passes phantom power straight through.
Bring every hard to reach XLR connection in your rack to one front panel.
The P16 lets you run the rear XLR connections of your mic preamps, processors, wall panels or tie lines to the back of the patch bay once, then do all of your patching from the front with short XLR cables. You stop crawling behind the rack, and the connectors on your expensive gear stop wearing out from being plugged and unplugged.
It is a passive design. Each front jack is connected directly to its rear jack, pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 and pin 3 to pin 3, so balanced and unbalanced signals pass unchanged, and so does phantom power for condenser microphones.
The chassis is fully shielded black steel, the connections are made on a PCB, and the rack ears are reversible so the unit can face the front or the back of the rack.
