Frequently Asked Questions

Can BeatStep control modular synths?
Yes. It outputs CV pitch and Gate on 3.5mm jacks alongside MIDI and USB.

Is it a sequencer or a controller?
Both. A mode switch flips between a 16-step sequencer and a pad/encoder MIDI controller.

Does it need a computer?
No. Powered from a USB supply, it sequences MIDI and CV hardware standalone.

Does it have MIDI input?
No. BeatStep has MIDI out only. If you need MIDI in, drum gates and more CV, look at BeatStep Pro.
