Why 61 Keys Rather Than 49?
Five octaves gives room to play a bass or chord part with the left hand while the right hand plays a line above it. On 49 keys that gets cramped quickly. It is the standard size for a reason.
Is It Weighted?
The KeyLab 49 and 61 use a synth-action keybed rather than a weighted hammer action. The 88 is the weighted model in the range.
What Software Is Included?
Arturia bundles its own software with KeyLab controllers. Confirm the current bundle contents by calling 844-687-4208, since it changes between releases.
Why Arturia
Arturia has spent over twenty years building the bridge between vintage instruments and modern production, first in software with the V Collection and then in hardware with the KeyLab, MiniFreak, MicroFreak and AudioFuse lines. The company's controllers are built around its own software ecosystem, which is why a KeyLab maps to an Arturia instrument without configuration.
