The Astatic 727-18 is a miniature dynamic gooseneck microphone, 18 inch. The flexible gooseneck puts the capsule exactly where the talker is, the standard choice for podiums, lecterns, and paging stations.
It covers 200 Hz - 16 kHz with a cardioid pickup pattern on a moving-coil dynamic element, keeping the source in focus while pushing room noise and bleed to the background. Sensitivity is rated at -56dBV (1.6mV) @ 1Pa. At a podium or pulpit it delivers consistent, intelligible speech with the flexibility to position the capsule exactly where it needs to be.
