Overview
Each Carbon Pre brings eight mic/line preamps and eight line outputs, taking a Carbon rig up to 24 mic/line inputs and 24 line outputs total. Every preamp parameter, including gain, phantom power, and Variable Z impedance, is recallable from inside Pro Tools across all connected interfaces, and the unit is EUCON enabled for Avid control surfaces.
It uses the same preamps and stacked ADCs as Carbon, with 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion. Carbon Pre also runs standalone over ADAT to expand an HDX, HD Native, or third-party system, and makes a clean replacement for an aging Pro Tools | PRE. Up to nine units can feed an HD system through ADAT.
