Pro Tools HD I/O 8x8x8 is a modular audio interface for Pro Tools HD systems configured with 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs and 8 channels of digital I/O. It is built for high-fidelity capture with extensive dynamic range and the lowest latency the platform allows, and the card slots mean the configuration changes as the room's needs change.

The HD I/O exists for sessions where converter quality is the thing being judged. Large-scale scoring, film post, high-profile commercial music. In those rooms the interface is not a convenience, it is the boundary between the performance and the file, and every artifact it introduces survives to the final mix.
The 8x8x8 configuration is the balanced starting point: eight analog in, eight analog out, eight digital. Because the design is card based, that configuration is not permanent. Analog input, analog output and digital cards can be added or swapped, so a room that starts tracking small and later needs more outputs for immersive monitoring expands the same chassis rather than replacing it.

Can the Configuration Be Changed Later?
Yes. The HD I/O is modular, so analog input, analog output and digital cards can be added or exchanged. A room that later needs more outputs for immersive monitoring expands the existing chassis rather than buying a new interface.
What System Does the HD I/O Require?
