The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K is Blackmagic's first full-frame digital film camera, built around a 36 x 24mm 6K sensor and an active L-Mount. It puts large-format cinema image quality in a compact handheld body that uses the same accessories as the Pocket Cinema Camera line, and it ships with the full version of DaVinci Resolve Studio.
Overview
The full-frame sensor is the difference. At a native 6048 x 4032, it is nearly three times the area of a Super 35 sensor, which means a shallower, more cinematic depth of field and the ability to use anamorphic lenses uncropped. It delivers 13 stops of dynamic range with dual native ISO of 400 and 3200, extending to 25,600, for clean, low-noise images from bright sun to near darkness. A custom optical low pass filter tailored to the sensor keeps fine detail clean.
The active L-Mount works with a wide range of modern and vintage glass and supports iris and focus control on compatible lenses. The camera records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW to CFexpress Type B cards or to an external USB-C disk, and it can record real-time H.264 proxies at the same time and sync directly to Blackmagic Cloud, so an editor can start cutting in DaVinci Resolve while you are still shooting. You can shoot up to 6K at 36 fps open gate or 120 fps windowed, and the large 5-inch HDR touchscreen tilts for high and low angles.
The carbon fiber polycarbonate body has a multifunction handgrip with controls for recording, ISO, white balance and shutter angle, built-in stereo microphones, mini XLR and 3.5mm audio inputs, HDMI and USB-C. It also makes vertical content easy with portrait mode metadata for social platforms.

Who it is for
The Cinema Camera 6K is for shooters who want a full-frame cinematic look and L-Mount flexibility in a light handheld body: narrative, commercial, documentary and creators moving up from Super 35. It accepts the same accessories as the Pocket line, so existing rigs carry over.
