The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K is a full-frame 6K box-style digital film camera built for modular cinema rigs. This PL version pairs the same full-frame 36 x 24mm 6K sensor and Generation 5 Color Science found across Blackmagic's cinema line with a compact, rig-friendly body covered in mounting points, so you can build it up for studio, gimbal or handheld work.
Overview
PYXIS 6K uses a full-frame 6K HDR sensor at 6048 x 4032 with 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600, for a shallow, cinematic depth of field and clean images from bright sun to low light. It records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW with simultaneous H.264 proxies to CFexpress cards or an external USB-C disk, and can sync to Blackmagic Cloud so editing can begin in DaVinci Resolve while you shoot.
The box design has 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch mounting points across the body, dual SDI and HDMI monitoring outputs, mini XLR audio with phantom power, timecode and reference, and twin recording slots. There are tally indicators on front and back, and an optional PYXIS Monitor adds a touchscreen for control.
