It records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW and ProRes and includes DaVinci Resolve Studio, making it a favorite for narrative work, documentaries and high-end content.
Overview
The Super 35 6K sensor captures more detail than the 4K model and gives you room to reframe or punch in while finishing in 4K. It carries the same 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600, so highlights and shadows hold together and low-light scenes stay clean. The EF mount accepts the huge range of Canon EF and compatible lenses many shooters already own.
Recording is 12-bit Blackmagic RAW and Apple ProRes to CFast 2.0 and UHS-II SD cards, plus direct recording to an external USB-C disk for extended takes. Blackmagic RAW keeps full sensor data in efficient files that move straight into DaVinci Resolve. A bright 5-inch HDR touchscreen makes critical focus at 6K straightforward in the field.
Unlike the 6K Pro, the G2 does not have built-in ND filters or a tilting screen, which keeps it lighter and lower cost while delivering the same core image. Audio includes a built-in mic, 3.5mm input, mini XLR with phantom power and a headphone output, and the camera ships with the full DaVinci Resolve Studio.
