What Does a Wash Light Do?
It floods an area in colour rather than producing a beam. Wash fixtures are what give a room its overall colour and mood, uplighting walls, washing a stage or colouring a dance floor, and they are usually the first thing bought.
What Do RGBW, Quad and Hex Mean?
The number of colours in each LED. RGB is three, RGBW adds white, Quad is four in one lens, and Hex is six including amber and UV. More colours means more accurate mixing, and a dedicated white means pastels and skin tones look right instead of tinted.
Can I Run These Without a Controller?
Yes. Automated programs, sound-active modes and master and slave linking all work with no controller. ILS models go further and follow a master fixture so the whole rig stays in step.
Why Chauvet DJ
Chauvet DJ has been the default answer in mobile DJ and small venue lighting for two decades, built on a simple premise: a lighting rig should set up fast, run without an operator and survive being loaded in and out several nights a week. The ILS system ties fixtures together so a whole rig responds as one without a DMX desk or a programmer, which is the reason a single DJ can run a room's worth of lighting alone. The company is based in Sunrise, Florida.
