DigiTech HammerOn is a momentary pitch-shift pedal with 27 selectable pitches spanning two octaves down to two octaves up, controlled by two independent footswitches. Pitch 1 is a dedicated hammer-on switch. Pitch 2 runs in Hammer On, Impossible or Sequence mode, and a Trill button mimics rapid footswitch presses. Classic and Chords algorithms are both on board, with 24-bit conversion and true bypass.

The idea behind HammerOn is that hammer-ons and pull-offs sound different from picked notes. They are more subtle and more expressive. DigiTech built a pedal that lets a foot add those notes alongside what the hands are already doing, which puts intervals within reach that no hand position allows.
Pitch 1 is fixed: hold it down and the note jumps to whatever interval the Selector knob is set to, release it and the note falls back. Pitch 2 is the creative half. In Hammer On mode it behaves like a second, independently set Pitch 1. Impossible mode alternates between two pitches faster than any player can fret them. Sequence mode steps through two, three or five notes in order, turning a single held note into a riff.
Trill mimics rapid presses of either footswitch at a speed set by the Selector knob, and DRY+ blends the original signal back in so the shifted note becomes a harmony rather than a replacement. Combined, DigiTech counts seven distinct pedals in the one enclosure, from a straight momentary shifter through a harmonizer, a capo-style transposer and an automatic guitar sequencer.

What Are the Three Pitch 2 Modes?
Hammer On makes Pitch 2 a second independent momentary shifter, so two intervals sit under two feet. Impossible alternates rapidly between two pitches, producing runs no player can fret. Sequence steps through a set order of two, three or five notes each time the switch is pressed, which turns one held note into a repeating figure.
Who Is HammerOn For?
Players who already own a Whammy and want something the treadle cannot do, experimental and post-rock guitarists, and anyone building sequenced or synth-adjacent parts on a guitar. It also works as a straightforward capo-style transposer for players who just want a clean key change under a foot.
What Is the Difference Between Classic and Chords Mode?
Classic runs the original Whammy algorithm at a 44.1 kHz sample rate with 20 Hz to 16 kHz response. It tracks single notes and carries the tracking artifacts players associate with the original Whammy. Chords runs the newer Whammy DT algorithm at 22 kHz with 20 Hz to 11 kHz response, and tracks full chords cleanly.
Does It Come With a Power Supply?
Yes. HammerOn ships with its 9 V DC 1300 mA adapter. Draw is 258 mA typical, so it also runs from a pedalboard supply with a spare high-current 9 V output.

Why DigiTech?

Do I need a separate power supply?
