DigiTech MonoNeon Whammy is a signature treadle pitch-shift pedal developed with bassist MonoNeon, adding octave blend modes and up to three octaves of HyperSonic pitch shifting to the Whammy platform. It runs 24-bit conversion at 44.1 kHz with 20 Hz to 20 kHz response, takes MIDI over 5-pin DIN, and ships with a customizing kit of neon gaffer tape and a marker.

MonoNeon plays bass in a way that does not sit still, and the pedal reflects that. The HyperSonic range extends pitch shifting to three octaves, well past the standard Whammy, which puts the shifted signal into territory that reads as a synth line rather than a transposed instrument.
The octave blend modes are the other addition. Rather than replacing the played note, the pedal mixes octaves against the dry signal in set relationships, so the treadle moves the balance rather than only the interval. On bass that produces a fuller, more layered result than a straight shift, and it works on guitar the same way.
The rest is Whammy: treadle control, MIDI input for remote selection and CC control of pedal position, and the same 24-bit audio path. The box includes neon yellow and neon orange gaffer tape and a mini permanent marker, because the pedal is meant to be customized rather than left stock.

What Is HyperSonic Mode?
It extends the pitch shift range to three octaves, further than the standard Whammy reaches. At that distance the shifted signal stops sounding like a transposed instrument and starts reading as a synth voice, which is the point.

Why DigiTech?
DigiTech has built guitar effects since 1984 and invented the mass-market digital pitch shifter with the original Whammy in 1989.
