DigiTech SDRUM is a drum machine pedal that learns beats from guitar strumming. Scratching across muted strings teaches it a kick and snare pattern, and the pedal builds a full drum part around it with embellishments and variations. It stores 36 songs with three parts each, offers five kits, and outputs 24-bit audio through amp, mixer and JamSync connections.

Every other drum machine asks the player to browse. Scroll through a genre list, audition patterns, find one close enough, adjust the tempo. That process interrupts writing at exactly the moment when interruption costs the most.
SDRUM removes it. Scratch across the strings in the rhythm of the kick and snare, and the pedal reads that pattern directly. Kick and Snare pads on the face let the pattern be tapped in by hand instead if that is easier. From the pattern it constructs a professional drum part with fills and variations that follow the feel rather than repeating a loop.
Storage is 36 songs, each with a verse, chorus and bridge part that switch on the fly with the footswitch, which makes it workable live rather than only as a writing sketchpad. Five kits cover a wide genre range, and Groove/Kit and Hats/Rides knobs shape the result. The FS3X input adds three-button footswitch control, and JamSync out ties it to a compatible JamMan looper.

How Does SDRUM Learn a Beat?
Scratch across the strings with the pattern of the kick and snare in mind. The pedal reads the rhythm of those scratches and treats it as the skeleton of the beat. The Kick and Snare pads on the pedal face do the same job by hand. From that skeleton SDRUM builds a full part with embellishments and variations.
Who Is SDRUM For?

Can I Change Parts While Playing?
Yes. Each of the 36 songs holds three parts, typically verse, chorus and bridge, switchable on the fly with the footswitch or with an FS3X connected to the dedicated input. That is what makes it usable on stage rather than only at a desk.

Why DigiTech?
DigiTech has built guitar effects since 1984 and invented the mass-market digital pitch shifter with the original Whammy in 1989. After a period under Harman ownership the brand was acquired by Cor-Tek in 2022 and has returned to active development, with the MonoNeon Whammy and HammerOn both arriving in 2025.
