DigiTech Whammy DT is a treadle pitch-shift pedal that adds full drop and raised tuning to the classic Whammy effect. Tuning changes happen instantly under a foot rather than at the tuning pegs, and they run independently of the Whammy and Harmony settings, so a bend can sit on top of a dropped tuning. Conversion is 24-bit at 44.1 kHz with true bypass and MIDI input.

The DT stands for drop tuning, and it is what separates this pedal from the standard Whammy. A set can move from standard to Eb to drop D to any other tuning inside the pedal's range without a guitar change and without the dead air of retuning on stage. For a player covering material written across several tunings, that is the difference between one guitar and three.
The tuning section runs in parallel with the pitch-shifting section. Whammy, Harmony and Detune all behave the way they do on the standard pedal, driven by the treadle, and the drop or raise sits underneath as a separate offset. That means a dive bomb in drop C works exactly as it does in standard.
MIDI input allows a switching system to recall both the tuning and the effect state per song, and true bypass keeps the pedal out of the signal path entirely when nothing is engaged.

How Is Whammy DT Different From the Standard Whammy?
The audio path and the Whammy, Harmony and Detune effects are the same family. What Whammy DT adds is a separate drop and raised tuning section that offsets the whole instrument, running independently of the treadle effects. The standard Whammy has drop tune available over MIDI but not as a full front-panel tuning section.

Working guitarists covering material across several tunings in one set, players who would otherwise carry a second and third guitar to a gig, and anyone who already uses a Whammy and wants tuning control on the same board.
Can I Bend While in a Dropped Tuning?
Yes. The tuning offset and the treadle effects are separate stages. Set the drop, then use the Whammy, Harmony or Detune settings on top of it exactly as on the standard pedal.
What Power Does It Need?
A 9 V DC external adapter. Draw is 2.4 W, under 265 mA, so the output has to be a high-current one rather than a shared low-current tap on a pedalboard supply.
