DigiTech Whammy Ricochet is a compact pitch-shift pedal that replaces the Whammy treadle with a momentary footswitch and adjustable rise and fall ballistics. Seven pitch selections cover 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, octave, double octave and octave plus dry, with an up or down toggle, a latching mode and an LED ladder showing the shift trajectory. Conversion is 24-bit.
Whammy pitch bends without giving up half a pedalboard.
The standard Whammy takes a lot of board. The Ricochet gets to the same effect through a momentary footswitch instead of a treadle, which drops it into a compact enclosure roughly the size of any other pedal on the board.
What replaces the foot movement is the Ballistics control, which sets rise and fall times independently. A slow rise and fast fall behaves nothing like a fast rise and slow fall, and that pair of settings is where most of the character lives. Hold the switch and the pitch travels at the rise rate, release it and it returns at the fall rate.
Seven pitch intervals are on offer with a Range toggle for up or down, and a latching mode holds the shifted pitch in place rather than returning it, so the pedal also works as a straightforward transposer. The LED ladder shows where in the trajectory the pedal currently sits, which matters when the movement is slow enough to be played against.

What Does the Ballistics Control Do?
It sets how fast the pitch travels to the target interval and how fast it returns, independently. A slow rise with a fast fall produces a gradual climb and a snap back. Reverse it and the pedal falls away slowly after an instant jump. This is the control that does the job the treadle does on a full-size Whammy.

Players who want Whammy pitch effects on a board that has no room for a treadle, anyone who prefers a repeatable programmed sweep to a foot-controlled one, and guitarists building ambient or textural parts where a slow, consistent pitch drift matters more than real-time control.
Can It Hold a Shifted Pitch?
Yes. Latching mode rises or falls to the selected pitch and stays there until switched again, which turns the pedal into a transposer rather than a momentary effect.
Does It Include a Power Supply?
No. DigiTech lists the 9 V DC adapter as sold separately. The matching supply is the PS0913DC-01 for the US, rated 9 V DC at 1.3 A. Draw is 235 mA typical.

Does it have true bypass?
Yes, when the effect is bypassed with the momentary switch off. With the effect enabled or bypassed with the momentary switch on, the output runs buffered at 1 kOhm.
