The Electro-Voice EKX-12P is a powered 12-inch two-way loudspeaker from EV's EKX series. A built-in 1500 W Class D amplifier drives EV-designed transducers to 132 dB of peak output.
It earns its living with working bands, mobile DJs, and mid-size rooms. It has the headroom for a full band in a 300-seat room without leaning on a subwoofer for vocals. The 12-inch format is the all-rounder: tight enough for vocals and acoustic acts, big enough for a band in a mid-size room. For small events it runs self-contained from a mic or line source; for full productions it takes a mixer feed and just works.
Onboard QuickSmart DSP handles the system processing through EV’s single-knob interface and LCD, so dialing in a room takes seconds instead of a laptop. A variable-speed fan managed by onboard sensors keeps the amplifier stable through long, hot sets. The SST waveguide design holds the pattern steady across the room instead of beaming highs down the center aisle. The cabinet is braced 15 mm plywood under EV’s EVCoat finish, which shrugs off load-in scrapes far better than painted MDF.
