IK Multimedia AXE I/O with AmpliTube 5 MAX and TONEX MAX is the guitar recording interface bundled with IK's full software versions, pairing the AXE I/O hardware with AmpliTube 5 MAX and TONEX MAX. The interface runs 24-bit conversion to 192 kHz with Class-A discrete microphone preamps, a variable impedance instrument input, five outputs including a dedicated amp output with ground lift, and 116 dB dynamic range on the monitor outputs.

AXE I/O ships with entry versions of IK's software as standard. This bundle replaces them with the MAX versions: AmpliTube 5 MAX for amp and effects modeling, and TONEX MAX for the full AI Machine Modeling library. Bought separately the software upgrades cost real money, which is the point of the bundle.
The hardware is unchanged. The instrument stage uses a multiple topology preamp with variable input impedance sweeping from 1 MOhm to 2.2 kOhm in passive mode, so the way the pickup loads is a tone control rather than a fixed accident. Two Class-A discrete mic preamps, Class-A line receivers, and electronically balanced floating monitor outputs handle everything else.
Output 5 remains the amp output, unbalanced and floating with a selectable ground lift, which makes reamping straightforward. Sample rates run to 192 kHz and the headphone stage delivers roughly 180 mW into 50 Ohms from a virtually zero-Ohm source.

What Does the MAX Software Add?
AmpliTube 5 MAX is the complete version of IK's amp and effects modeling platform rather than the SE version, and TONEX MAX unlocks the full Tone Model library rather than the starter set. If you were going to buy those upgrades anyway, the bundle is the cheaper route.
Who Is This Bundle For?
Guitar players setting up a recording rig from scratch who know they want the full software libraries, and existing AXE I/O owners are better served buying the software upgrades on their own.
Is the Hardware Different From the Standard AXE I/O?
No. Same interface, same converters, same preamps, same amp output. Only the bundled software licenses differ.
