IK Multimedia ARC Studio is a hardware room correction processor that sits between any audio interface and any pair of monitors and applies measured correction outside the computer. It runs AKM Velvet Sound converters at 24-bit and 96 kHz with 32-bit float internal processing, 120 dB dynamic range, THD of 0.00035 percent and 1.4 ms latency in Natural Phase mode.
Room correction that survives leaving the DAW.
Plug-in room correction has one structural problem: it only corrects what passes through the DAW. Reference tracks from a browser, a client's phone, a hardware synth patched to the monitor controller, none of it gets corrected. ARC Studio moves the correction into hardware in the monitor path, so everything you hear through those speakers is corrected, including the things you did not plan to correct.
Measurement runs from the included ARC microphone through the ARC software, and the resulting profile is stored in the box. After that the computer is optional. Two correction modes are available: Natural Phase at 1.4 ms for tracking and live work, and Linear Phase at 42 ms for the most accurate correction when latency does not matter.
Because the processing is 32-bit float internally with 120 dB of dynamic range and phase deviation held to +7 degrees at 20 Hz, the correction is not costing you audio quality to get it. The unit measures 14.4 x 12 x 4.5 cm and weighs 465 g, so it fits on a desk next to the interface.

How Is ARC Studio Different From a Correction Plug-In?
A plug-in corrects the DAW output only. ARC Studio corrects the monitor path, so streaming references, system audio, hardware sources and anything else feeding your monitors gets the same correction your mix does. It also frees the CPU and removes the need to remember to bypass the plug-in before bouncing.
Who Is ARC Studio For?
Anyone mixing in an untreated or partially treated room who wants correction applied to everything they hear. It works with any monitors, so it is also the way to add measured correction to speakers that have no DSP of their own.
What Comes in the Box?
