IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitors Black is a pair of ultra-compact 2-way active studio monitors in black that put a real reference response on a desk with almost no footprint. Each cabinet measures 180 x 135 x 90 mm and carries a 3 in. composite woofer and a 3/4 in. silk dome tweeter driven by four Class-D amplifiers, for 45 Hz to 22 kHz response, 70 W peak system power and 107 dB maximum SPL. RCA, 1/8 in. TRS and Bluetooth inputs are all built in.

Small monitors normally trade honesty for size. iLoud Micro Monitor does not. The whole system is DSP controlled, so IK sets the crossover, the driver alignment and the phase behavior digitally rather than fighting a passive network in a tiny cabinet. What comes out is flat enough to make mix decisions on at a desk, in a hotel room or on a location shoot.
Bass reaches 45 Hz from a 3 in. driver because the bass reflex port and the DSP are designed together. Three acoustic settings on the rear let you correct for a wall behind the speakers, a bright room, or a desktop that is reflecting mids back at you. Set them once for the room you are in and leave them.
Connection is deliberately simple. RCA and 1/8 in. TRS cover a computer, an interface, a phone or a media player, and Bluetooth A2DP covers casual listening and reference checks from a phone without repatching. The pair runs from one power supply with a single 4-pin cable between the cabinets.

How Loud Do iLoud Micro Monitors Get?
107 dB maximum SPL measured at 50 cm with both speakers playing, averaged from 100 Hz to 10 kHz. That is comfortably loud for near-field work at a desk. They are a near-field monitor, not a room-filling system, and they are happiest at the listening distance they were designed for.
Who Are iLoud Micro Monitors For?
Producers and engineers working in small rooms, on a laptop, or on the road. Also a strong second reference next to a larger main pair, since checking a mix on a small honest speaker catches balance problems that big monitors hide. Video editors, podcasters and streamers use them for the same reason.
Can I Travel With iLoud Micro Monitors?
Yes. The pair weighs 2.2 kg together, the satellite detaches from the master, and the whole rig plus the supplied cables fits in a carry-on with a laptop. Producers working out of hotel rooms and rented rooms use them so they are mixing on a reference they know.
What Comes in the Box?
Two iLoud Micro Monitor speakers, power supply unit, power cable, 4-pin speaker connection cable at 2 m, and a 1/8 in. TRS to dual RCA cable at 1.5 m. Everything needed to run the pair is in the carton.
Do They Need an Audio Interface?
No. They accept a line level signal on RCA or 1/8 in. TRS directly, so a laptop headphone output or a phone will drive them. An interface still gives better converters and level control, but it is not required to get sound.

Is this listing for one speaker or a pair?
A pair. Both the left and right cabinets are included, along with the power supply and the cable that links them.
Can I use these with a turntable?
Only through a phono preamp. The RCA inputs are line level and a turntable cartridge output is far below that, so a turntable without a built-in preamp will sound very quiet and thin.
Do they support room correction?
Not built in. This model has three fixed acoustic switches on the rear rather than measured correction. For measured correction on a small monitor, look at iLoud Micro Monitor Pro or add an ARC Studio processor ahead of them.
