IK Multimedia iRig Mic Lav is an omnidirectional electret condenser lavalier microphone with a 6 mm capsule, 30 Hz to 16 kHz response at -3 dB, 120 dB maximum SPL and sensitivity of -35 dB at 1 kHz. It terminates in a 1/8 in. TRRS connector on a 150 cm cable and weighs 22 g.

Distance is what ruins recorded speech. Doubling the distance between mouth and microphone roughly quarters the direct-to-reverberant ratio, so a camera microphone across a room picks up more of the room than the person. A lavalier fixes it by sitting on the lapel, six inches from the source, regardless of where the camera is.
The capsule is omnidirectional, which is standard for lavaliers because it stays consistent when the wearer turns their head. Response runs 30 Hz to 16 kHz at -3 dB with 120 dB of headroom, so it is not going to be overloaded by a raised voice.
The 1/8 in. TRRS connector wired to the CTIA and AHJ standard means it plugs straight into a phone or tablet. The 150 cm cable is long enough to reach from a lapel to a device in a pocket or on a tripod. A foam windshield, a mounting clip and a carrying case are included.

Why Use a Lavalier Instead of the Camera Microphone?
Proximity. A lavalier sits inches from the mouth, so the voice dominates the room. A camera microphone sits wherever the camera is, so the room dominates the voice. No amount of processing recovers a recording made from too far away.

The cable is 150 cm, which reaches from a lapel to a device in a pocket, on a lap or on a low table. For longer runs you will need an extension.
