IK Multimedia iRig Stream Mic Pro is a dual-capsule multi-pattern condenser microphone with an integrated audio interface running 2 in and 2 out or 4 in and 2 out. Two 0.55 in. gold-sputtered capsules give cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8 and stereo patterns, responding from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 115 dB maximum SPL, a high-pass filter selectable at 60, 100 or 200 Hz, and 24-bit conversion to 96 kHz.

Dual capsules are what make the pattern switching real rather than a marketing claim. Cardioid for a single voice in an untreated room, omnidirectional for a group around a table, figure-8 for two people facing each other, and stereo for music or ambience. One microphone covers four recording situations that would otherwise need different hardware.
The high-pass filter is selectable at 60, 100 or 200 Hz, which matters because the right cut depends on the source. 60 Hz for music, 100 Hz for most speech, 200 Hz for a boomy room or a very close voice. A fixed filter forces a compromise that a three position filter does not.
Conversion is 24-bit at up to 96 kHz, and the interface runs 2 in and 2 out or 4 in and 2 out. The headphone output delivers 7 mW per channel into 32 Ohms for direct monitoring. The body measures 55 x 136 x 38 mm and weighs 430 g. With an external IK PSU 5300 it charges a connected iOS Lightning device.

Which Polar Pattern Should I Use?
Cardioid for one person, since it rejects the room behind the microphone. Omnidirectional for several people around a table. Figure-8 for two people facing each other across the microphone, since it picks up front and back and rejects the sides. Stereo for music, room ambience and anything where a sense of space matters.

Can I Use It With a Phone or Tablet?
Yes. The mini-DIN device connection supports iOS and Mac or PC hosts. With an external IK PSU 5300 it also charges a connected iOS Lightning device during long sessions.
