The Nord Piano 6 is a stage piano with a premium Triple Sensor keybed, LED faders, and dual layers for piano and synth with independent effects for each. It is available as an 88 note or 73 note instrument.

The Piano 6 is the latest generation of a line that has been the default stage piano for a lot of working players. The new panel design uses LED faders so you can see your layer balance from a standing position under stage light.
Piano and synth run as dual layers with independent effects, which means you are not compromising a pad to make the piano sit right. The Triple Sensor keybed handles fast repeated notes without the missed strikes that catch out two sensor actions.
Both sizes carry the same electronics and the same Nord Piano Library access. The choice is range against load in weight.

What Does a Triple Sensor Keybed Actually Do?
It reads the key three times on the way down instead of twice.
The practical effect is repeated note handling. On a two sensor action you have to let the key return most of the way before it will retrigger. A third sensor lets the note speak again from a partially released key, which is how a real grand behaves and is why fast trills and repeated single notes feel right.
Can I Run Piano and Synth at the Same Time?
Yes, that is the point of the dual layer design. Each layer gets its own effects chain, so you can put a long reverb on a pad underneath a dry, compressed piano without the two fighting each other. The LED faders give you live control of the balance.
Which Pedals Work With the Piano 6?
The Nord Triple Pedal 2, AMS-NTP2, and the Nord Single Pedal 2, AMS-NSP2, are both designed for the Piano 6 and use continuous sensors for half damping and pedal noise. The earlier Triple Pedal 1 and Single Pedal 1 also work, but without the continuous sensor behavior.

Why Nord
Nord instruments are designed and built by Clavia DMI in Stockholm, Sweden. The Nord Piano Library is sampled and maintained in house, and it is the reason so many touring keyboard rigs have a red instrument in them.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Piano 6 and the Grand 2?
The Grand 2 uses a Kawai hammer action with Ivory Touch keytops and a different cabinet. The Piano 6 uses Nord's Triple Sensor keybed and is lighter. Both draw on the same Nord Piano Library.
Does the 73 note version lose any features?
No. The 73 and 88 share the same engine, panel, layers and effects. The difference is key count and weight.
Can I add my own piano samples?
You can load from the Nord Piano Library and Nord Sample Library through Nord Sound Manager, and bring in your own samples with the Nord Sample Editor.
Is this a genuine Nord product?
