The Nord Stage 4 is the flagship Nord live performance keyboard, with a Triple Sensor keybed, aftertouch, physical drawbars with LED indicators, and complete effect sections for every layer. Three models cover fully weighted 88 and 73 note keybeds and a semi weighted waterfall Compact.
Every layer gets its own complete effect section. That is the whole argument for the Stage 4.
On most workstation keyboards the effects are a shared resource and you spend your time deciding what to sacrifice. The Stage 4 gives each layer a full effect section, which changes how you build sounds for a set.
The panel was redesigned around that idea. Physical drawbars with LED indicators sit alongside the piano and synth controls, so organ registration, layer balance and effect state are all readable without menu diving.
All three models have aftertouch and a Triple Sensor keybed. The 88 covers A to C, the 73 covers E to E, and the Compact uses a semi weighted waterfall action over the same E to E range for players who lead with organ.

Which Stage 4 Model Fits Your Rig?
Start with what your left hand does.
- Stage 4 88: fully weighted A to C. The pick if piano is the anchor of your set and you want full range
- Stage 4 73: the same fully weighted Triple Sensor action over E to E, 16 lbs lighter, still a piano first instrument
- Stage 4 Compact: semi weighted waterfall keys over E to E, 28.6 lbs. The pick if you play a lot of organ and want flat fronted keys for palm smears
What Does Aftertouch Add?
Pressure control after the key is down. On the Stage 4 you can route it to vibrato, filter, layer volume or morph targets, so a held pad can open up under your hand without reaching for a wheel. On a keyboard with this many simultaneous layers, that extra hand free control is worth more than it sounds.
How Many Sections Can Run at Once?
The Stage 4 is built around organ, piano and synth sections that run simultaneously across two layers, each with independent effects. The panel exposes all of it at once rather than paging between sections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Compact have a lesser engine?
No. The Compact runs the same engine and effects as the 88 and 73. The difference is the keybed, semi weighted waterfall instead of fully weighted, and the smaller cabinet.
Do all three models have aftertouch?
Yes. Aftertouch and physical drawbars with LED indicators are fitted across the whole Stage 4 line.
Which soft case fits the Stage 4 73?
The AMS-GBP73, which is the wheeled case for the Stage 4 73 and Piano 5 and 6 73. Note it does not fit the Compact, which takes the AMS-GB73.
Is this a genuine Nord product?

Is it covered by a warranty?
