The Roundback, Elite Style
The body is a mid-depth Lyrachord bowl, Ovation's one-piece molded composite shell. No seams to work loose, no back to crack in a dry winter, and a parabolic curve that reflects string energy forward instead of trapping it in corners. Up top, the soundholes move off-center into a cluster framed by hardwood epaulettes, leaving more unbroken soundboard where the strings drive it hardest. It is the design that made an Ovation identifiable at a hundred meters. The soundboard is a solid spruce top, new quintad elite-bracing, carried on scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing that lets the top move freely while the braces hold their shape for decades.
Sound and Electronics
The roundback voice is articulate and immediate, with a focused low end that stays defined inside a band mix. Amplified, the Ovation CP-100 slimline Pickup, OP-4CT Preamp with tuner pairs with the Ovation CP-100 slimline Pickup, OP-4CT Preamp with tuner: shape your tone at the guitar, tune silently between songs, and plug into any PA or interface with confidence.
Playability
Scale 643mm, nut width 42.8 mm. The bowl's curved back settles against your body without a dreadnought's sharp edge, and the neck carries Ovation's fast, low-effort feel.
