The Celebrity Elite bass brings the multi-soundhole roundback to the low end, an acoustic-electric bass with genuine stage manners. The Ovation Celebrity Elite E-Acoustic Bass CEB44X-7C, Cognac Burst is that instrument. This one wears Cognac Burst.
The Roundback, Elite Style
The body is a mid-depth Lyrachord bowl, Ovation's one-piece molded composite shell. No seams to work loose, no back to crack in a dry winter, and a parabolic curve that reflects string energy forward instead of trapping it in corners. Up top, the soundholes move off-center into a cluster framed by hardwood epaulettes, leaving more unbroken soundboard where the strings drive it hardest. It is the design that made an Ovation identifiable at a hundred meters. The soundboard is a quilted maple top, carried on scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing that lets the top move freely while the braces hold their shape for decades.
Sound and Electronics
The bowl keeps the low end defined at volumes that make traditional acoustic basses howl, with an upright-adjacent warmth under acoustic acts. Amplified, the Ovation slimline pickup, OP4BT preamp with tuner pairs with the Ovation slimline pickup, OP4BT preamp with tuner: shape your tone at the guitar, tune silently between songs, and plug into any PA or interface with confidence.
Playability
Scale 864 mm (34"), nut width 43 mm. The bowl's curved back settles against your body without a dreadnought's sharp edge, and the neck carries Ovation's fast, low-effort feel. A cutaway keeps the upper frets in reach.
