The Roundback, Traditional Style
The body is a super shallow Lyrachord bowl, Ovation's one-piece molded composite shell. No seams to work loose, no back to crack in a dry winter, and a parabolic curve that reflects string energy forward instead of trapping it in corners. The center soundhole keeps the classic look and the familiar acoustic behavior. The soundboard is a selected fine wood top, quilted maple top, scalloped, quarter sawn x-bracing, carried on scalloped, quartersawn X-bracing that lets the top move freely while the braces hold their shape for decades.
Sound and Electronics
The shallow bowl trades a little unplugged boom for stage comfort and feedback resistance, a trade the third set of the night always vindicates. Amplified, the Ovation slimline pickup, OP4BT preamp with tuner pairs with the Ovation slimline pickup, OP4BT preamp with tuner: shape your tone at the guitar, tune silently between songs, and plug into any PA or interface with confidence.
Playability
Scale length 642 mm, nut width 42.8 mm. The bowl's curved back settles against your body without a dreadnought's sharp edge, and the neck carries Ovation's fast, low-effort feel.
