When they're closed, these hats sound fairly soft and responsive. When you open them; however, you get a noisy, trashy sound that's brimming with distinctive character. What is the Paiste PSTX Swiss Hats?
Hi-hats live or die on the relationship between the two cymbals. Paiste weights top and bottom as a pair so the closed chick is tight and the half-open wash is controllable, rather than leaving the drummer to match two pieces by ear. Singles are available where one half needs replacing.
