Peavey Audition is a 7 watt guitar combo practice amplifier with a 4 inch speaker, TransTube tube emulation circuitry, a clean and lead sound selected by a Lead switch, two band EQ and a 1/4 inch headphone output that mutes the speaker for silent practice.
A small, simple amp you plug in and play the same day.
The Audition is Peavey's compact practice combo. The front panel keeps it simple: a 1/4 inch input, Volume, a Lead on/off switch, High and Low EQ, a headphone jack, a power LED and the power switch. With Lead off it plays clean. With Lead on it moves into an overdriven lead tone.
Peavey's TransTube design is the reason it does not sound like a toy. The preamp is built to shape gain from clean to thick and sustaining, and the power section is designed to compress naturally as the volume goes up, the way a tube output stage behaves.
At 9.5 by 9.7 by 5.4 inches and 6.4 pounds, it sits on a desk, a shelf or the floor next to the bed, and the top handle makes it easy to carry to a lesson.
