How Do I Oil a Piston Valve Properly?
Unscrew the top cap and pull the valve about two thirds of the way out without removing it completely. Put a few drops on the valve surface, turn it slowly to spread the oil, then push it back in and line up the valve guide before screwing the cap down. If the valve does not seat, the guide is not aligned.
Why Is My Valve Still Slow After Oiling?
Almost always dirt rather than oil. Grit and dried residue build up in the casing and oil alone will not clear them. Wash the valves and casings in lukewarm water with a valve brush, dry them fully, then oil.
