ProX XC-DMX25 is a 25 foot 3-pin DMX lighting cable, XLR3 male to XLR3 female, built on 110 ohm twisted pair data cable with a foil shield and a tinned copper braid. It carries DMX512 control between a lighting controller and fixtures, or from fixture to fixture down a chain.
Real DMX cable for a real DMX chain.
DMX is data, not audio. A microphone cable will often work on a short rig, then cause flicker, dropouts or fixtures jumping addresses as the chain gets longer. The XC-DMX25 is built on 110 ohm data cable matched to the DMX line, with Duofoil shielding at 100% coverage and a tinned copper braid at 85% coverage on top.
ProX all metal XLR connectors with gold plated contacts sit at both ends, and the PVC jacket is made to be coiled, dragged and redeployed show after show. At 25 feet it covers a controller at the DJ booth out to the first fixture, or the gap between truss positions.

Why Not Use a Mic Cable for DMX?
Microphone cable is designed for analog audio at a different impedance. DMX runs at 110 ohms, and a mismatched cable causes signal reflections that show up as flicker or erratic fixtures, worse with every fixture and every foot added. ProX itself notes that DMX cable is not for audio and audio cable is not for DMX.
Do I Need a Terminator?
On longer chains or with many fixtures, yes. A DMX terminator in the last fixture's DMX out stops the signal reflecting back up the line. Short chains often run without one, but it is the first fix when fixtures misbehave.
Is This for 3-Pin or 5-Pin Fixtures?
3-pin. Most DJ and small venue fixtures use 3-pin DMX. Fixtures with 5-pin connectors need a 5-pin cable or an adapter.
