Overview

Powersonic Coated Bass is a coated bass drumhead from Remo's Powersonic series, built for a focused low end with controlled sustain. The coating warms the attack against a clear head while keeping the weight and punch the series is designed around.

Low end with the ring already taken out of it.

What Is the Powersonic Series?

Remo's bass drumhead range built around a focused low end with controlled sustain, aimed at players who want the drum to hit hard and stop rather than boom on.

Coated or Clear Powersonic?

Coated softens and warms the beater attack. Clear leaves the attack brighter and more clicky, which cuts through a loud mix more easily. The low end is comparable.

Will I Still Need Internal Muffling?

Less than with an open head. The Powersonic design controls sustain in the head itself, so many players run little or no additional pillow inside the drum.

Why Remo

Remo has made drumheads in the United States since 1957, when Remo Belli replaced calfskin with Mylar and ended the problem that had defined drumming until then: a head that changed pitch with the weather. Every major head design since has come out of that company, and the Ambassador remains the most widely used drumhead in the world. Remo also builds world percussion, marching heads and the Acousticon shells used across its drum circle range.
