Powerstroke 3 Ebony Bass with Dynamo Installed is the same ported Ebony bass drumhead with the Dynamo already fitted. The Dynamo is Remo's port ring, which finishes the cut edge and holds its shape under tension, and here it ships installed rather than as a separate part.

What Is a Dynamo?
Remo's port ring. It fits into the cut hole, finishes the raw edge and holds the port round under head tension, which stops the opening from distorting or tearing over time.
How Is This Different From the Non-Installed Version?
The other version ships with the port cut but no ring fitted. This one arrives complete, so there is nothing to fit before the head goes on the drum.
Does the Port Change the Sound?
Yes. Venting the drum shortens the decay and tightens the attack, and it lets a microphone get inside. That is why most live and studio bass drums are ported.
Why Remo
Remo has made drumheads in the United States since 1957, when Remo Belli replaced calfskin with Mylar and ended the problem that had defined drumming until then: a head that changed pitch with the weather. Every major head design since has come out of that company, and the Ambassador remains the most widely used drumhead in the world. Remo also builds world percussion, marching heads and the Acousticon shells used across its drum circle range.
