Powerstroke 77 Coated is a two-ply 7-mil coated snare head with a 7-mil inlay ring and a 5-mil top clear dot, delivering warm, crisp, controlled tone with projection. It combines the two damping approaches Remo uses, an edge ring and a centre dot, on one head.

The Powerstroke 77 Coated Top Clear Dot drumheads feature warm crisp controlled tones and projection. Constructed with 2-plies of 7-mil coated films with a 7-mil inlay ring, Powerstroke 77 Clear Top Dot Snare drumheads reduce overtones and provide a 5-mil top clear dot for added durability.

What Does Combining a Ring and a Dot Achieve?
The inlay ring damps the outer overtones and the clear dot reinforces and controls the impact area. Together they produce a crisp, controlled snare sound with far less ring than a bare two-ply head, plus real durability.
How Is Powerstroke 77 Different From Powerstroke 3?
Powerstroke 3 is single ply with an edge ring. The 77 is two plies of 7-mil with both an edge ring and a top clear dot, so it is heavier, more controlled and more durable.
Is It a Snare-Only Head?
This configuration is built for snare drums. Powerstroke 3 and 4 cover the tom and bass applications.
Why Remo
Remo has made drumheads in the United States since 1957, when Remo Belli replaced calfskin with Mylar and ended the problem that had defined drumming until then: a head that changed pitch with the weather. Every major head design since has come out of that company, and the Ambassador remains the most widely used drumhead in the world.
