Benkadi is a Bambara word for coming together, and the Club Series is built around that idea. These are drums meant to end up in a circle, in a classroom, in a recreation program or a worship setting, in the hands of people who have never tuned a drum and should not have to.

The pretuned head is the whole design. There is no hardware to adjust and nothing to go out of tune between sessions, so a stack of these can sit in a closet for a month and come out ready. The PVC shell keeps the weight down and survives handling that would crack a wood shell.

At 10 inches this is the mid voice of the series, with more body than the bongos and more attack than the 14 inch rally drum. It comes with two mallets, so it plays as a mallet drum out of the box, and it takes hands just as well.

Do I Have to Tune It?

Yes. The two mallets are included because a mallet gives younger and less experienced players an easier, louder result, but the head takes hands fine.
