The Solid State Logic Super 9000 is a 1U SuperAnalogue analog channel strip that puts the signal path of the SSL 9000 J and Duality consoles in a single rack unit: a dual mic preamp (SuperAnalogue or VHD), the 9000 and Duality dynamics section, a 4-band EQ switchable between the G-Series 292 and E-Series 242 circuits, and high and low pass filters.
The modern SSL console sound, one channel at a time.
The 9000 Series became the benchmark for modern music production. Its SuperAnalogue design keeps the signal path wide bandwidth and ruler flat, with very low distortion, low noise and low phase shift, and no electrolytic capacitors in the audio path. The result is the clean, wide, punchy sound engineers associate with the modern SSL console.
The preamp gives you a choice. Run the pristine, high headroom SuperAnalogue path, or switch to Variable Harmonic Drive and dial in 2nd order harmonics for valve-like warmth or 3rd order harmonics for a harder edge. Input Flip routes the line input through the mic preamp, so DAW returns can pick up that harmonic color at the mix stage without repatching.

What Is the Difference Between the 292 and 242 EQ?
The 292 G-Series "Pink Knob" circuit is variable Q, so boosts and cuts start wide and tighten as you push them, with the classic SSL shelf undershoot and overshoot. The 242 E-Series "Black Knob" circuit is constant Q and more surgical. On the 292 the mid bands can be divided or multiplied by 3 to reach well outside their normal range; on the 242 the low and high bands switch between bell and shelf.
What Can the Dynamics Section Do?
The compressor is built around the THAT 2181A VCA with Peak/Hard Knee or Soft Knee, program dependent or fast attack, and logarithmic or linear release. The classic SSL gate/expander adds a Hold control. Dynamics can sit pre or post EQ, and the EQ and filters can be routed to the dynamics sidechain.
Can Two Units Work as a Stereo Pair?
Yes. The dynamics sidechain link lets two Super 9000 compressors track together, loudest signal wins, using a TS or TRS jack cable (not included). There is also an external sidechain key input.

Why Solid State Logic?
Solid State Logic has built studio consoles since 1969, and the SSL sound is one of the few in audio that engineers can identify by ear. The current range brings that console design and workflow into channel strips, interfaces and DAW controllers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a genuine Solid State Logic product?
Yes. Victory is a veteran owned dealer in Miami and units ship new in original packaging.
Is this covered by warranty?
Yes. It carries the full Solid State Logic manufacturer warranty. Call 844-687-4208 for the current term.
Is the Super 9000 a microphone?
No. It is a rackmount channel strip: microphone preamp, dynamics and EQ in one unit. You plug a microphone into it.
Does it provide phantom power?
Yes, +48V on the mic preamp, along with polarity invert and a pad.
Can I use it on line level sources?
Yes. It has a dedicated line input, and Input Flip lets line sources run through the mic preamp for harmonic color.
