Triumph Series Bb/F Double French Horn with Detachable Bell is a double French horn in F and Bb with a four-key configuration, an 11.9mm .469 inch bore and a 311mm 12.244 inch detachable bell, supplied in a carbon fiber case.
The bell comes off and the whole horn fits in a carbon fiber case you can carry on.

A double French horn carries both an F horn and a Bb horn in one instrument, with a thumb valve to switch between them. That is what makes the upper register secure and the lower register full, and it is why a single horn is a false economy for anyone past the first year. The detachable bell reduces the packed size dramatically, and the carbon fiber case keeps the weight down with it.

Why Would I Want a Detachable Bell?
Size. A French horn is an awkward shape and a fixed bell case is large enough to be a problem on a plane, a bus or a crowded stage. Unscrewing the bell packs the horn into a far smaller case. For a student travelling to festivals or a player working multiple sites, it removes a recurring headache.
Does a Detachable Bell Affect the Sound?
The joint is engineered to seat firmly and in normal playing the horn behaves like a fixed bell instrument. Seat it fully every time and keep the threads clean.
What Is the Difference Between a Single and a Double Horn?
A double horn carries both F and Bb tubing with a thumb valve to switch. The F side gives the traditional colour low down, the Bb side secures the upper register. Horn repertoire assumes a double.
