Victory Tuning Slide Grease 1/4 oz Jar is a tuning slide grease in a 1/4 oz jar, for the tuning and valve slides on brass instruments.
Different job from valve oil, and using the wrong one is how slides seize.
Tuning slides need a thick grease, not an oil. They are meant to stay where you put them and move only when you want them to, which is the opposite of what a valve needs. A seized tuning slide is one of the most common brass repairs and it is entirely preventable.
Clean the old grease off the slide with a cloth before applying new. Building grease on top of old grease traps grit and is a large part of why slides stick in the first place.

Why Not Just Use Valve Oil on a Tuning Slide?
Valve oil is far too thin. It runs off, leaves the slide dry, and the slide then corrodes into place. Tuning slide grease is designed to stay put and to seal, which is what a slide that only moves occasionally actually needs.
My Slide Is Already Stuck. What Now?
Do not force it and do not use pliers on the tubing. A stuck slide usually needs a technician with the right puller. Forcing it distorts the tubing and turns a small job into a large one. Call 844-687-4208 and we can point you at a repair option.
