Overview

RingerBringer is an analog ring modulator pedal, an accurate recreation of a legendary and long-discontinued original. Ring modulation multiplies your signal against an oscillator, producing metallic, bell-like and frankly alien tones that no other effect makes.

The strangest effect in the box, faithfully rebuilt.

What Does a Ring Modulator Actually Do?

It multiplies the input signal by an oscillator, producing sum and difference frequencies rather than harmonically related ones. The result is inharmonic and metallic, which is why ring modulation sounds unlike any other effect.

What Is It Used For?

Sound design, experimental and psychedelic guitar, synth processing, and film and game audio where an unnatural texture is wanted. It is not a subtle effect and is not intended to be.

Is It Fully Analog?

Yes. Warm Audio recreated the original analog circuit rather than modelling it, which matters on a ring modulator because the oscillator interaction is where the character lives.

Why Warm Audio

Warm Audio builds recreations of the classic studio hardware most engineers will never get to own, at a fraction of what the originals cost. The company sources premium components, CineMag and custom transformers, Fairchild-grade capacitors, NOS tubes where the design calls for them, and puts them into circuits copied closely from the originals rather than approximated. It has grown from microphones and preamps into compressors, EQs, direct boxes, guitar pedals and cable.
