Overview

WA-C1 is a stereo chorus and vibrato pedal with depth and rate control, built on the bucket-brigade analog delay circuit that gave 1980s chorus its particular liquid character.

The 1980s chorus sound, in stereo, done with the original kind of circuit.

The WA-C1 Chorus Vibrato is a faithful recreation of the most celebrated all-analog chorus in guitar pedal history with additional no-compromise features for exploring legendary modulated tones. The WA-C1 starts with a premium, all-analog preamp known for being a favorite of guitar players who demand ultra-responsiveness. The lush chorus setting features separated depth and rate controls to expand beyond the limitations of vintage units while delivering true-to-original tone. The vibrato section is preserved as authentic to the original pedals, and an added hi-z switch on the back of the pedal allows players to compensate for higher impedance of guitars vs keyboards to add clarity to the high end on guitars if desired. What Is the Difference Between Chorus and Vibrato?

Chorus mixes the modulated signal with the dry one, producing thickening and width. Vibrato outputs only the modulated signal, so the pitch moves rather than widening. Having both in one pedal covers two very different uses.

Why Does Stereo Matter on a Chorus?

Chorus is fundamentally about width. Running it in stereo into two amps or two channels produces a genuinely wide image rather than the simulated width of a mono chorus.

What Is a Bucket-Brigade Circuit?

An analog delay line that passes the signal through a chain of capacitors. It is the technology behind the classic chorus pedals, and it colours the sound in a way digital modulation does not.

Why Warm Audio

Warm Audio builds recreations of the classic studio hardware most engineers will never get to own, at a fraction of what the originals cost. The company sources premium components, CineMag and custom transformers, Fairchild-grade capacitors, NOS tubes where the design calls for them, and puts them into circuits copied closely from the originals rather than approximated. It has grown from microphones and preamps into compressors, EQs, direct boxes, guitar pedals and cable.
