The Origin Series is a Gen 3 platform built on a Super 80 S2 body with a copper nickel neck and vertically extruded tone holes. It is not a lower tier than the Uprise Series. It is a different instrument with a different response, and players choose between them on sound rather than on rank.

Every Origin horn carries full body and bell engraving, Pisoni WS105 pads on convex nickel plated resonators over waterproof tan leather and deluxe woven felt, blue steel springs, high grade pearls, a custom support ring, a rod support bullet, a G sharp and low C sharp non-stick mechanism, and adjustable left and right hand keys with a palm key rising mechanism on D, E flat, E and F.

Why Is the Alto Bell Enlarged?

An enlarged bell moves more air at the bottom of the horn, which fills out low B flat, B and C and stops them thinning out at low dynamics. The alto is the size where that change is most audible, which is why it is applied there and not across the whole range.

What Is the Difference Between the Origin and Uprise Series?

They are different platforms, not different tiers. The Origin Series is Gen 3 on a Super 80 S2 body with a copper nickel neck and vertically extruded tone holes. The Uprise Series is Gen 2 on a Mark VI body style with a brass neck, rolled tone holes, double braces and a low C sharp keyguard.

Vertically extruded tone holes and a copper nickel neck give the Origin a more focused, quicker response. Rolled tone holes and a brass neck give the Uprise a broader, more traditional voice. Neither is the better horn. They are answers to different questions.

What Are Pisoni WS105 Pads?

A professional pad built from waterproof tan leather over deluxe woven felt with a convex nickel plated resonator. They seal reliably, hold their seat far longer than a generic pad, and give a cleaner response at low dynamics, which is where a marginal pad shows up first.
