RME builds audio interfaces, converters and network audio devices in Haimhausen, Germany. The company is known for two things above all: conversion that measures as well as it sounds, and driver support that outlasts the hardware. RME still ships current Windows and macOS drivers for interfaces sold more than a decade ago, which is why studios buy RME once and keep it through several computer generations.

The line runs from the bus-powered Babyface Pro FS through the Fireface rack interfaces, the Digiface series for ADAT, AES, AVB, Dante and Ravenna, the HDSPe PCI Express cards, the ADI-2 desktop converters, and the M-Series network preamps and converters used in broadcast and large live systems. TotalMix FX runs on the device rather than the host computer, so routing and monitoring stay stable no matter what the computer is doing.
